A Quiet Obsession: My Journey Into the World of Sudoku
Some hobbies enter your life with fireworks. Others sneak in quietly, almost unnoticed—until one day you realize they’ve become part of your daily routine. For me, that quiet obsession turned out to be Sudoku.
I didn’t expect much the first time I tried it. Just a simple number puzzle in the corner of a newspaper while waiting for my coffee. But somewhere between filling in those little squares and erasing the same number three times in frustration, I realized something strange: I was hooked.
This is the story of how a simple puzzle game turned into one of my favorite ways to relax, think, and occasionally argue with a piece of paper.
The First Encounter With a Grid of Numbers
The funny thing is, my first experience with Sudoku wasn’t very impressive.
I remember staring at a 9×9 grid thinking, “That’s it? Just put numbers in boxes?” It seemed almost too simple. No flashy graphics, no storyline, no characters—just numbers from 1 to 9.
Of course, that confidence lasted about three minutes.
After filling a few obvious squares, I suddenly hit a wall. Every box looked possible. My brain froze. I checked the rules again just to make sure I wasn’t missing something magical.
